Dutch countryside tour
This wonderful tour covers the magnificent Dutch polder landscape with its ribbons of farmland north of Amsterdam. You will please yourself with the visit of fishing villages marked by windmills, lakes, dikes and dams. This tour allows you to visit a working windmill, a visit to a wooden shoe manufactory, and a cheese farm!
What to expect
Your private guide will drive directly to the Zaanse Schans and will guide you around through this Dutch heritage site, here you will experience famous aspects of Dutch manufacturing and visit a working old windmill to learn how products were fabricated in the 17th and 18th century. After de Zaanse Schans your guide will drive to the fishing village Volendam, to invite you for a walking tour and perhaps you can enjoy lunch and taste some Dutch food like herring, smoked eal, Dutch shrimps or kibbeling. In the afternoon your guide shall take you to a typical family-owned cheese farm and wooden shoe manufactory. Then you will visit another highlight of this tour, Monnickendam, a historic former trading town from 1350 and not yet discovered by tourism, or Marken a former island where time stood still.

Immediately when you leave Amsterdam, you drive through peatland and find yourself at least 6 feet below sea level.
